One thing I've found is there's never a silver bullet, and if you do manage to find one, it likely won't be one 6 months from now. (Especially in the startup space) Leaders and teams being adaptable to how & where the company is headed also helps.

One thing to call out in your description above, while it is delivering shipped features in 6 weeks, the breakdown is actually a 6-week build time, followed by a 2-week cooldown. So 8 weeks in total.
I have talked with other eng leaders who have run different flavors in the form of 3, 6, and 9-week cycles, but as defined by Basecamp, the _original_ cycle length is 6 weeks with a 2-week cooldown.
